José María Alonso
José María is a specialist in the litigation of civil and commercial aspects of contracts (especially in the purchase and sale of goods and rights, construction and engineering contracts, and distribution, concession and agency contracts), corporate disputes (sale of companies and conflicts between partners), disputes over contracts and financial operations (loans, guarantees, deposits, etc.) and insurance and insolvency situations.
As a lawyer of one of the parties, he has taken more than 2000 proceedings before the different Spanish jurisdictional bodies (with national and international components); he has collaborated in aspects of Spanish Law in proceedings before judges and courts of Portugal, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Italy, Israel, Morocco and Australia; and has participated as an advisor to some of the parties in multiple domestic and international arbitration proceedings.
As an arbitrator, he has acted in more than 200 proceedings (either as sole arbitrator, as arbitrator appointed by one of the parties, or as president of the Arbitral Tribunal) both domestic ("ad hoc", Madrid Arbitration Court, Spanish Court of Arbitration and Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration-CIMA) as international (ICC Court of Arbitration, LCIA, AAA / ICDR, CIADI and TAS / CAS); organisms of whose respective lists of arbitrators, among others, is part.
Javier specialises in international arbitration, commercial arbitration and investment as well as in European Union law.
Javier has acted as a lawyer and as an expert in more than thirty commercial arbitrations (CCI, NAI, Madrid Arbitration Court, Ad hoc; headquarters the Hague, London, Madrid, Miami, Panama, Paris), mainly in the sectors of construction, energy and sales of companies. He has also advised in several arbitration of investment and has been mains lawyer in its claim against Bolivia (Ad hoc UNCITRAL; 2014-2015).
He holds a PhD in law and Professor of public international law and law of the Union European of the UAM. Former Dean of its Faculty of law.
He has been Chief Deputy of the legal department international of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Assistant Director-General for Legal Affairs of the Secretariat of State for the European Union and consultant of the General Secretariat for maritime fisheries. Member of the Spanish delegation in many meetings of the Council of the EU and of its working groups.
Author of several books and numbers is the articles in periodicals on international law, international arbitration and European Union law.
Rosa holds a Law Degree (2018) and a Business Administration Degree (2018) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain), where she graduated with an outstanding grading and twenty distinctions with honour. She has also completed the Master's Degree for Admission to the Bar in Universidad Pontificia Comillas (Spain), with an outstanding grading and seven distinctions with honour.
During the last year of her law studies, she took part in European Law Moot Court Competition, where she pleaded as defendant in the team which represented the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in the 2017/18 call. The team won the Regional Final in Lucerne (Switzerland) and was the semi-finalist in the Grand Final held at the premises of the Court of Justice of the European Union. It was the first time that a Spanish team qualified to the Grand Final since the inception of the competition in 1988.
Rosa joined José María Alonso Abogados in June 2018. She collaborates in commercial arbitration proceedings, both domestic and international. In addition, she has acted as Arbitral Secretary in an ad hoc arbitration proceedings under the UNCITRAL Rules, in an arbitration proceeding administered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, in an arbitration proceedings administered by the International Chamber of Commerce and in a national ad hoc arbitration proceedings.
Her native language is Spanish and she is also fluent in English.
Luis is an Attorney-at-Law, specializing in contract law, commercial litigation and national and international arbitration. He has primarily worked in transactions and disputes under the law of Spain, Switzerland and England and Wales. The main sectors of practice he focusses on are Engineering & Infrastructure, Foreign Trade, and Finance & Banking.
Luis has provided advice in the field of commercial contracting related to corporate transactions, real estate, sale of goods and engineering projects, as well as managing and negotiating disputes in energy projects (photovoltaic, wind and biomass) located in Central Africa, the UK and Portugal.
He has also participated in several commercial and sports arbitration proceedings as both counsel and administrative secretary of the arbitral tribunal (Madrid Court of Arbitration, Spanish Court of Arbitration, TAS/CAS, European Association of Arbitration and Ad Hoc arbitrations).
In the academic field, Luis holds a Law Degree and a Business Administration Degree from the Pablo de Olavide University, a Master in International Business Law, Contracting and International Relations from the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ranked #1 of his class – taught in English). He is also a PhD Candidate in the field of international arbitration from the Università di Bologna (Italy) and for the Universidad de Sevilla (Spain).

Víctor is an Attorney-at-Law, specializing in commercial law and arbitration. He has extensive experience in the practice of law of Spain and the United States. Víctor focuses his professional practice on advising companies in the Engineering & Infrastructure, Foreign Trade & Transport and Real Estate & Hotel sectors.
His professional activity has focused on advising national and international companies, international commercial arbitration and US immigration law. It highlights his participation in complex international arbitration cases, relating to EPC contracts in the engineering and construction sectors administered by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Madrid Court of Arbitration of the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Madrid, the Spanish Arbitration Court and the Cour d’Arbitrage Hispano-Marocain.
In the academic field, Víctor holds a Law degree from the University of Malaga, a Master of Law in Transnational Business Practice from the University of the Pacific: McGeorge School of Law (Sacramento, California) and a Master in International Business Law, Contracting and International Relations from the Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ranked #2 of his class – taught in English).
Víctor speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese.
